Polished Austrian power metal featuring soaring Swedish vocals and neoclassical keys. High-energy anthems for long drives and mountain peaks.
Founded in 2006 by former Edenbridge drummer Roland Navratil and keyboardist Frank Pitters, Dignity represents a bridge between the symphonic metal scene of Vienna and the melodic power metal traditions of Sweden. The band's identity was solidified by the recruitment of Swedish vocalist Jake E (later of Amaranthe fame), whose high-register, melodic delivery provided a distinct contrast to the more operatic styles common in the region at the time.
Their debut, 'Project Destiny' (2008), released via Napalm Records, established them as a force in the European metal circuit, characterized by Jonas Kjellgren's crisp production and Mika Jussila's iconic Finnvox mastering. While their output has been sporadic, with 'Balance of Power' arriving in 2013, they remain a cult favorite for fans of the 'melodic' side of power metal. Their sound is a sophisticated blend of neoclassical keyboard textures, hard rock rhythmic foundations, and the 'wall of sound' vocal layering typical of the era's peak production standards.
