Sebastien

Sebastien is a prominent Czech power metal outfit formed in 2008 by George Rain, evolving from the earlier project Navar. Based in Pardubice and Brno, the band is a cornerstone of the Central European melodic metal scene.

Their sound identity is characterized by a sophisticated blend of power, progressive, and symphonic metal, often likened to the 'Grapow sound' due to their long-standing collaboration with Roland Grapow (Masterplan, ex-Helloween). A defining feature of their career is the 'metal opera' approach, particularly on their debut 'Tears of White Roses,' which featured an unprecedented array of guest vocalists including Doogie White, Fabio Lione, and Tony Martin. This collaborative model has allowed them to bridge the gap between regional Czech metal and the international stage. Critically, they are praised for their high production values and the ability to maintain a cohesive melodic identity despite the diversity of guest performers. They occupy a unique cultural position as one of the few Czech metal bands to achieve significant distribution in Japan and consistent billing at major European festivals like Masters of Rock.
