Downfall

Downfall (specifically the Finnish entity from Tampere) represents a bridge in the Finnish metal scene between the 1990s melodic death metal explosion and the more streamlined alternative metal sounds of the 2000s. Formed in 1998, the band released two notable albums, 'Dark Parade' (2000) and 'My Last Prayer' (2002), before eventually evolving into the band Blackstar Halo.

Their sound is characterized by the 'Tampere style' of metal: a blend of Gothenburg-inspired melodicism, gothic atmosphere, and a rhythmic foundation influenced by groove metal.
