Dublex Inc. is a German electronic collective consisting of Robin Hofmann, Florian Pflüger, Rino Spadavecchia, and Felix Stecher.
Formed in Stuttgart in 2000, they emerged from the 'Blowshop' club nights at Le Fonque, a hub for innovative broken beat and nu-jazz. The group was instrumental in defining the European downtempo scene of the 2000s, eventually founding Pulver Records to showcase their unique blend of funky jazz-inflected house and abstract beats. Their sound identity is characterized by high-fidelity production that retains an analog soul, frequently utilizing Rhodes pianos, upright bass samples, and complex syncopated percussion. Critically, they are viewed as bridge-builders between the club floor and the lounge, successfully translating DJ-led energy into sophisticated long-form albums. Their influence is felt in the 'lounge' and 'chillout' compilations of the era, though their technical proficiency and hip-hop-rooted beat-cutting set them apart from more generic ambient producers.
