Dust Bolt

Dust Bolt emerged in 2006 from Landsberg am Lech, Germany, quickly rising through the ranks of the 'New Wave of Thrash Metal' (NWOTM). Their trajectory was accelerated by winning the Wacken Metal Battle in 2011, which led to a long-standing relationship with Napalm Records.

Sonically, they are a bridge between the aggressive Teutonic thrash of Kreator and Destruction and the more melodic, rhythmic approach of Bay Area bands like Exodus and Testament. Their early work, specifically 'Violent Demolition' and 'Awake the Riot,' is characterized by high-velocity tremolo picking and frantic d-beats. Over their career, they have evolved to include more diverse influences, including crossover thrash and alternative metal textures, particularly evident on 2024's 'Sound & Fury.' Critically, they are lauded for their technical proficiency and high-energy live performances, which have allowed them to tour alongside genre titans like Obituary and Sepultura. They represent the successful globalization of the thrash aesthetic, maintaining the genre's core tenets while adapting to modern production standards.
