Formed in Dublin in 2014 after meeting at music college, Fontaines D.C. bonded over a shared passion for poetry before channeling that lyricism into tense, driving post-punk.
Led by vocalist Grian Chatten alongside guitarists Carlos O'Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor Deegan III, and drummer Tom Coll, the quintet built their early reputation on sharp, spoken-delivery observations of Irish identity. Now based in London, the band has evolved from their initial literary post-punk roots into a broader, more expansive rock sound while retaining their signature rhythmic urgency.
