Freaks

Quirky, off-kilter house music with a mischievous streak. Stripped-back grooves and deadpan vocals for the weirdest hours of the night.

Intro

Freaks inhabit the strange, elastic space between tech-house and avant-garde pop. Their sound is defined by a 'wonky' aesthetic: basslines that seem to bend and stretch, percussion that feels tactile and handmade, and a sense of humor that is rare in electronic music. It is music that feels both highly disciplined and slightly unhinged, like a clock that keeps perfect time but makes a funny noise on every fourth tick.

What truly sets them apart is their commitment to the 'freak' ethos. While many of their contemporaries in the house scene aim for sleek perfection, Justin Harris and Luke Solomon embrace the grit and the oddity. They use vocals not just as hooks, but as character-driven narratives, often delivered with a dry, British wit that grounds the cosmic synths in a very human reality.

Start with 'The Creeps' to hear their most iconic crossover moment, then dive into 'Conscious Of My Conscience' for a masterclass in how to make electronic music feel alive, organic, and delightfully weird. It is the perfect soundtrack for anyone who finds standard club music a bit too predictable.

Freaks, earlier known as Robotic Movement, Future Movement and the Unknown are an electronic band from London, England. The band members are Justin Harris and Luke Solomon. They also run the record label "Music for Freaks". They both worked as a DJ under their own names and collectively as Freaks.
