Roberto Frejat is a foundational figure in Brazilian Rock (Rock Nacional), emerging in the early 1980s as the guitarist and co-songwriter for Barão Vermelho alongside the legendary Cazuza. Following Cazuza's departure in 1985, Frejat assumed lead vocal duties, steering the band through a successful evolution from raw post-punk into a more refined, blues-rock influenced sound.
His solo career, launched in 2001, solidified his status as a premier pop-rock craftsman, moving away from the collective band identity toward a more melodic and production-heavy aesthetic. His sound is characterized by a blend of American blues-rock guitar techniques and the harmonic sensibilities of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).
