GUT is a seminal German extreme metal band widely credited as the 'fathers of pornogrind.' Formed in 1991, they deviated from standard grindcore by incorporating slower, groovier tempos and heavily pitch-shifted vocals that obscured all lyrical content into rhythmic gurgling.

Their early 90s output established the aesthetic of the genre: masked identities, shock-value imagery, and a lo-fi production style that emphasized sonic filth. After a long hiatus, their 2006 return with 'The Cumback' signaled a shift toward 'grind-n-roll,' integrating hip-hop beats and electronic elements, proving their influence extended beyond mere speed.
