Iron Mask

Iron Mask is a Belgian neo-classical power metal project founded in 2002 by guitarist Dushan Petrossi. Emerging from the same creative well as Petrossi's other major project, Magic Kingdom, Iron Mask was initially conceived as a side project but evolved into a primary vehicle for his virtuosic compositions.

The band's identity is inextricably linked to the 'shred' movement, specifically the neo-classical style popularized by Yngwie Malmsteen, though Petrossi incorporates a more robust power metal structure and symphonic weight. Over two decades, the band has maintained a consistent output, often rotating high-caliber vocalists like Mark Boals and Diego Valdez to complement the technical demands of the music. Their lyrical themes frequently draw from historical literature (Alexander Dumas) and mythology, aligning them with the 'epic' sub-tier of the genre.
