High-energy nu-jazz that pairs virtuosic piano runs with sleek house rhythms. Sophisticated, sun-drenched, and built for cosmopolitan dancefloors.
Jazztronik sounds like the intersection of a classical conservatory and a high-end Tokyo nightclub. Ryota Nozaki’s music is defined by its incredible velocity and polish, where complex acoustic piano improvisations are seamlessly woven into four-on-the-floor house beats and syncopated broken-beat rhythms. It is music that feels expensive, vibrant, and deeply international.
What makes the project distinctive is the sheer technicality Nozaki brings to the dancefloor. While many nu-jazz artists rely on loops, Jazztronik often features sprawling, live-played piano solos that would feel at home in a jazz club, yet they are anchored by aggressive percussion and lush, cinematic string arrangements. It captures the frantic, neon-lit energy of modern Japan while maintaining a breezy, bossa nova-inspired lightness.
Start with the anthem 'Samurai' to hear the perfect marriage of traditional Japanese influence and club-ready energy. From there, explore the album 'Horizon' for a masterclass in how to blend live instrumentation with electronic production without losing the soul of either.
Jazztronik is a Japanese music group formed by the Tokyo-based DJ/producer/pianist Ryota Nozaki; it is a solo project and does not have fixed members. Jazztronik performs to sold-out crowds all across the Japanese club scene, and its growth in America and Europe has helped him reach popularity in the English club scene.
