Their early work helped define the 'Italo-darkwave' sound, blending the melodic sensibilities of synth-pop with the bleakness of post-punk. Over time, they incorporated elements of neofolk, industrial, and even trance, creating a hybrid aesthetic that influenced a generation of European gothic artists.
