Lockjaw

Lockjaw is the long-running industrial and gothic rock project led by Medavon DeRaj'e, established in 1994. While the name is shared by several punk and drum and bass acts, this iteration is firmly rooted in the American industrial underground.

The project's sound evolved from early bedroom-style experimentation into a more polished fusion of EBM, darkwave, and synth-pop. A significant portion of the catalog, especially in recent years, focuses on radical reinterpretations of classic songs, transforming them into somber electronic pieces. Culturally, Lockjaw occupies a space within the independent dark-alternative scene, maintaining a consistent presence through various shifts in the genre's popularity. The music is characterized by its use of synthetic textures, processed vocals, and a 'noir' aesthetic that prioritizes atmosphere over raw aggression.
