Los del Río are a Spanish duo consisting of Antonio Romero Monge and Rafael Ruiz Perdigones, whose career spans over six decades. While globally defined by the 1996 'Macarena' phenomenon, their identity is rooted in the sevillanas and rumba flamenca traditions of Andalusia.

Formed in 1962, they spent decades as staples of the Spanish social circuit, performing for the jet-set in Marbella and refining a sound that blended traditional folk with accessible pop structures. Their sound identity is characterized by unison baritone vocals, nylon-string guitar motifs, and a specific rhythmic swing derived from Spanish folk dances. The 1995 Bayside Boys remix of 'Macarena' transformed them into a global archetype of the 'one-hit wonder,' yet they remain highly respected in Spain, holding a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
