Louderbach

Louderbach is a collaborative project between Berlin-based minimal techno pioneer Troy Pierce and Los Angeles-based vocalist Gibby Miller. Formed in the early 2000s, the duo represents a unique synthesis of the M-nus label's 'click-hop' aesthetic and the confrontational energy of the Boston hardcore scene.

Pierce, a central figure in the mid-2000s minimal explosion alongside Richie Hawtin, provides a production backdrop characterized by extreme spatial awareness, digital precision, and a focus on the 'single line' of melody. Miller’s contribution shifts the music away from pure functionalism, introducing a narrative, darkwave-adjacent quality that distinguishes Louderbach from Pierce's solo work as Slacknoise. Their discography, particularly the albums 'Enemy Love' and 'Autumn,' is highly regarded in the minimal techno canon for its ability to maintain a 'noir' atmosphere without relying on genre clichés. Critically, they are praised for their 'less is more' philosophy, stripping away the melodic excess of contemporary electronic music to explore the depth of repetition and subtle sonic textures.
