Me and My Drummer craft a sound that feels like a private performance in a vast, empty cathedral. It is music built on the intimate tension between Charlotte Brandi’s commanding, versatile voice and Matze Pröllochs’ intricate, often surprising percussion. The songs frequently start with a skeletal piano melody before blooming into lush, reverb-soaked anthems that feel both fragile and indestructible.
What truly sets them apart is their background in theater music, which manifests as a sense of pacing and drama rarely found in standard indie pop. They don't just write songs; they construct scenes. Me and My Drummer were an indie pop duo from Berlin. Charlotte Brandi and Matze Pröllochs met in Tübingen, Germany. Both worked in a theatre as stage musicians and their musical inspirations brought them together. In 2011 they began to record their debut The Hawk, The Beak, The Prey at Radio Buellebrueck Studio by Tobias Siebert. It was released in 2012 by Sinnbus. The band's second album Love Is a Fridge was released in February 2016.
