Millennium

Millennium is a British heavy metal band originating from Billingham, England, and is a significant representative of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement. Formed in 1982, the band's initial run lasted until 1988, during which they established a sound characterized by melodic twin-guitar leads and driving rhythms.

Their sound identity is firmly rooted in the transition between 70s hard rock and the faster, more aggressive heavy metal of the 80s. After a long hiatus, the band experienced a resurgence following a 2016 appearance at Brofest, leading to a successful second act with albums like 'Awakening' (2017) and 'A New World' (2019). Critically, they are respected for maintaining the 'street-metal' aesthetic of the original NWOBHM scene, avoiding the glam-metal tropes of the late 80s.
