Museum of Love

Polished, mid-tempo grooves that pair a drummer's precision with a crooner's soul. Sophisticated electronic pop for the late-night urbanite.

Intro

Museum of Love sounds like the moment the club lights dim and the crowd thins, leaving only the most dedicated dancers and the deep thinkers. It is a world of warm, analog synthesizers and incredibly tight, organic percussion that betrays Pat Mahoney's history as the rhythmic backbone of LCD Soundsystem. The music feels lived-in and elegant, avoiding the frantic energy of typical dance-punk in favor of a steady, hypnotic pulse.

What truly sets them apart is the vocal delivery. Instead of the shouted manifestos or detached whispers common in the DFA scene, Mahoney offers a rich, baritone croon that feels more like Scott Walker or Bryan Ferry than a typical indie frontman. This creates a fascinating tension between the machine-like precision of the beats and the very human, often vulnerable storytelling in the lyrics.

Start with their self-titled debut for a masterclass in modern electronic songwriting. Tracks like 'Down South' and 'Monotronic' showcase their ability to build a groove that feels both classic and entirely fresh, perfect for those who want their dance music to have a little more emotional weight.

Museum of Love is an American band formed by LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney together with Dennis McNany. Their first song "Down South" was released in July 2013, followed by "Monotronic" in October 2013. Their first full-length album was released on October 14, 2014, by DFA Records. The duo released a new song "Marching Orders", their first in four years, in November 2018. They released another new song called "Cluttered World" in March 2021. Their second studio album Life of Mammals is scheduled to be released in July 2021.
