Navigators

Navigators are a prominent Czech ensemble that emerged in the mid-2000s with a mission to bring authentic, live-instrumented R&B and soul to the Central European music scene. Led by a seven-member core, the band gained significant critical traction with their debut album, Sky Travellin' (2007), which was notably mastered at Sterling Sound in New York.

This commitment to high-fidelity production helped them bridge the gap between local scenes and international standards. Their sound identity is defined by a 'no-sample' philosophy, relying instead on complex arrangements of horns, keys, and vocal harmonies. Throughout their career, they have shared stages with legends like Earth, Wind & Fire and The Roots, cementing their reputation as a premier live act. Critically, they are viewed as pioneers who successfully localized the neo-soul movement in the Czech Republic, blending it with elements of jazz and funk. Their evolution through subsequent albums like Second Nature shows a refinement of this organic sound, maintaining a balance between sophisticated musicianship and accessible, groove-oriented songwriting.
