Nosound

Nosound is the creative vehicle of Italian multi-instrumentalist Giancarlo Erra, emerging in 2002 as a solo studio project before evolving into a full band. The project's identity is rooted in 'post-progressive' aesthetics, a term coined to describe music that utilizes the structural ambition of 70s prog but filters it through the minimalism of ambient and the emotional weight of slowcore.

Erra's early work was entirely self-produced, establishing a signature 'submerged' sonic palette that emphasizes atmosphere over technical display. The band's move to the Kscope label in 2008 solidified their position within a specific European art-rock scene alongside peers like No-Man and Gazpacho. Their evolution has seen a shift from the Pink Floyd-influenced space rock of 'Sol29' toward more experimental, electronic, and chamber-folk textures on later albums like 'Allow Yourself.' Critically, they are lauded for their high-fidelity production standards, frequently winning awards for recording quality.
