Nurse With Wound (NWW) is the primary vehicle for British artist Steven Stapleton, a central figure in the UK industrial and experimental scenes since 1978. Originally a trio, NWW quickly evolved into a solo project for Stapleton, characterized by a radical approach to sound collage and musique concrete.

Stapleton's work is inextricably linked to the 'Nurse With Wound List', a legendary insert in their debut album that cataloged hundreds of obscure avant-garde and fringe artists, effectively creating a roadmap for the 'outsider music' movement. Musically, NWW is defined by its unpredictability, blending elements of krautrock, dark ambient, and free improvisation with a dadaist sense of humor. Stapleton's visual art, under the name Babs Santini, is equally vital to the project's identity, providing a surrealist aesthetic that mirrors the audio.
