Heavy, militaristic industrial metal with a survivalist edge. Deep Swedish vocals meet machine-gun rhythms for high-intensity focus and raw power.
Raubtier sounds like a mechanized infantry unit moving through a frozen forest. The music is defined by a relentless, staccato pulse that sits somewhere between the rhythmic precision of electronic dance music and the crushing weight of modern metal. It is loud, unapologetically aggressive, and built on a foundation of four-on-the-floor beats and chugging, down-tuned guitar riffs that demand physical movement.
What sets them apart is the distinctively deep, gravelly baritone of Pär Hulkoff and the band's commitment to the Swedish language. While many industrial acts lean into sci-fi or fetish aesthetics, Raubtier feels grounded in the harsh reality of the Northern wilderness, hunting, and military history. There is a survivalist grit here that feels more 'predator in the woods' than 'cyborg in the club.'
Start with their debut album, Det finns bara krig. It perfectly encapsulates their 'there is only war' philosophy with anthems like Kamphund and Achtung Panzer. It is the ideal entry point for anyone who wants music that functions as a sonic shot of adrenaline, providing the perfect backdrop for high-stakes physical activity or mental fortification.
Raubtier (German for "predator") is a Swedish industrial metal band from Haparanda. They released their debut album, Det finns bara krig ("There is only war" in English), in 2009. Their first single, Kamphund ("Attack Dog"), had already become a hit on the Swedish radio station Bandit Rock 106,3. The band's second album, titled Skriet från Vildmarken ("The Call of the Wild"), was released in 2010. Raubtier toured with Sabaton during Sabaton's "World War Tour" in December 2010 which saw them visit several countries in Scandinavia. Raubtier released a new single in November 2013 called Qaqortoq which was later included in the upcoming album Pansargryning which was released in May 2014. A further single, titled Den Sista Kulan ("The Last Bullet") was released at the end of August 2015, again as a teaser for the upcoming album Bärsärkagång, which was later released on 19 February 2016.
