Árbol is a seminal Argentine alternative rock band that emerged from Haedo in the mid-1990s, becoming a cornerstone of the 'Rock Nacional' scene during the early 2000s. Their sound identity is defined by a 'popurrí' (potpourri) approach, famously blending hardcore punk, ska, and pop with traditional folk instrumentation like the violin, flute, and charango.

This stylistic flexibility was championed by legendary producer Gustavo Santaolalla, who signed them to his Surco label after hearing their debut, 'Jardín Frenético'. The band's career arc saw them transition from underground experimentalists to massive radio staples with the release of 'Chapusongs' and 'GUAU!' , the latter of which solidified their status as festival headliners. Critically, they are praised for their vocal arrangements, which utilize counterpoint and harmony in a way rarely seen in punk-adjacent genres. Despite lineup changes, including the departure of key songwriter Chávez and later Edu Schmidt, the band has maintained a dedicated following. They occupy a unique cultural space between the satirical 'rock chabón' of Bersuit Vergarabat and the melodic power-pop of Los Tipitos, serving as a bridge between aggressive street rock and sophisticated pop composition.
