Intro

Formed in Oslo in 1991, Satyricon is a pioneering Norwegian black metal band led by core member Sigurd Wongraven. While their early work defined the classic Norwegian black metal sound, the group began incorporating traditional heavy metal influences starting in 1999. Throughout their career, the band has released music via labels including Moonfog, Century Media, and Nuclear Blast, earning multiple accolades such as Spellemannprisen and Alarmprisen awards for their studio and live contributions.
