Savas Pascalidis

Savas Pascalidis is a pivotal figure in the European electro-techno crossover movement, emerging from the Stuttgart scene in the mid-1980s. Initially a house and funk DJ, his sound evolved through the acid house and new beat explosions of the late 80s before settling into a sophisticated blend of Detroit-influenced electro and German techno.

His career reached a critical turning point in the late 90s through his association with Richard Bartz and the Kurbel label, where he released seminal tracks like 'Sugarland Express' and 'Discotheque'. In 1999, he founded Lasergun Records, which became a primary hub for the 'electroclash' and 'neo-electro' sounds of the early 2000s. His work is characterized by a high-fidelity analog warmth, a reliance on classic Roland hardware, and a thematic obsession with space and technology.
