Spaces is a Brooklyn-based instrumental duo consisting of Duke Ahrens and Franco Colon, originally hailing from Florida. Their sound identity is defined by a 'celestial' approach to post-rock, characterized by long-form compositions and a high degree of thematic cohesion.

Their debut album, 'Voyage', was notably released as a serialized project, with one track produced per month to ensure a continuous sonic narrative. Their sophomore effort, 'Nothing Exists but Atoms and the Void', marked a significant shift in production, recorded entirely on a decommissioned ferryboat. This environment introduced unique acoustic properties and a more 'submerged' sonic texture to their work. Critically, they are positioned within the second wave of American post-rock, leaning more toward the atmospheric and cinematic end of the spectrum rather than the aggressive.
