Lush, sun-drenched synths and ethereal vocals that feel like a polaroid of a mountain lake. Perfect for quiet reflection and golden hour escapes.
Teen Daze creates music that feels like a physical space, specifically the lush, rain-washed landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. It is a sound defined by shimmering synthesizers, deep reverb, and a sense of profound stillness. While it emerged from the blog-era chillwave movement, it has matured into something more permanent and thoughtful, trading irony for a genuine connection to the natural world.
What sets Jamison Isaak apart is his ability to balance electronic precision with organic warmth. His tracks often feature cascading melodic loops that feel like sunlight hitting water, underpinned by soft, driving rhythms that never disrupt the peace. Whether he is leaning into pure ambient textures or structured indie-pop, there is a consistent thread of optimistic melancholy that makes the music feel both intimate and expansive.
Start with 'Glacier' if you want to experience his most immersive, atmospheric work, or dive into 'Interior' for a more polished, house-influenced take on his signature dreaminess. It is music designed for the moments when you need to step out of the noise and back into yourself.
Jamison Jon Baerg Isaak, better known as Teen Daze, is a Canadian electronic musician originally from Abbotsford, British Columbia. His first albums were released in 2010, attracting the attention of online music press outlets such as Pitchfork Media. Signing with Lefse Records, he released the full-length All of Us Together in 2012, followed quickly by Glacier in 2013. On his 2015 John Vanderslice-produced album Morning World, Teen Daze shifted from an electronic-driven style with elements of chillwave, house, and ambient to more of an indie pop sound, adding his own vocals. Teen Daze released Interior in 2021, describing it as "an album of first loves refracted through prisms of wisdom, wounds, and wonder." The album won the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2023.
