The American Analog Set

The American Analog Set (AmAnSet) emerged from Austin, Texas in the mid-1990s as a pivotal bridge between the slowcore movement and the rhythmic precision of post-rock. As they evolved, particularly during their Tiger Style era with albums like 'Know by Heart', the songwriting became more concise and pop-oriented without sacrificing their signature hushed aesthetic. They occupy a specific niche alongside bands like Bedhead and The Sea and Cake, characterized by emotional restraint, interlocking melodic patterns, and a 'quiet is the new loud' philosophy.
