The Crimson Armada

The Crimson Armada emerged from the Columbus, Ohio scene in 2007, quickly becoming a pivotal name in the 'technical deathcore' subgenre. Their sound identity is built on a foundation of melodic death metal (influenced by the Gothenburg sound) fused with the aggressive breakdown structures of American metalcore.

Their 2009 debut, 'Guardians', is widely considered a landmark release in the deathcore community, noted for its high technical proficiency and the inclusion of spiritual/philosophical lyrical themes that distinguished them from the more nihilistic tropes of the genre. Following a shift toward a more streamlined metalcore sound on 2011's 'Conviction', the band entered a long hiatus as frontman Saud Ahmed focused on The Holy Guile. Their 2024 reformation and subsequent singles mark a return to their technical roots, benefiting from modern production while retaining the high-speed shredding that defined their early career.
