Formed in Englewood, New Jersey, in 1979, The Sugarhill Gang is an American hip-hop trio signed to Sugar Hill Records. They gained prominence with their 1979 single Rapper's Delight, which became the first rap song to reach the Billboard Hot 100 top 40. While they achieved further success in Europe through the mid-1980s, the group later reunited in 1994 and launched a global tour in 2016 to perform their old-school style.
