U.D.O.

O. was formed in 1987 by Udo Dirkschneider after his departure from the legendary German band Accept.

O. quickly established its own identity as a bastion of traditional heavy metal. The band's sound is defined by Dirkschneider's unique, gravelly vocals and a commitment to the 'Teutonic' style: mid-tempo, rhythmic, and highly melodic metal with a focus on power and precision. Throughout the late 80s and 90s, the band navigated the changing musical landscape by incorporating more melodic and even industrial elements (notably on 'Faceless World') without ever losing their core metal foundation.
