Formed in 1986, the band initially gained notoriety for their high-energy blend of punk rock and hardcore, being among the first Soviet bands to tour internationally. Their sound evolved significantly in the early 1990s, most notably with the 'Na Kukhne' project, which pioneered the 'unplugged' aesthetic in Russia long before it became a global trend. This shift highlighted Sklyar's baritone and the band's ability to blend aggressive social commentary with existential storytelling. Throughout the 90s and 2000s, they explored crossover thrash, alternative rock, and even collaborated with literary figures like Victor Pelevin (on the 'Nizhnyaya Tundra' project). Critically, they are respected for maintaining an uncompromising underground spirit while achieving significant cultural influence. They occupy a unique space between the hooligan energy of Garik Sukachev and the more traditional Russian rock structures of bands like Alisa.
