Vitamin

Vitamin is a seminal Dutch hardcore/gabber project consisting of two of the genre's most influential figures: Dov Elkabas (The Prophet) and Daniel Leeflang (DJ Dano). Emerging in the early 1990s, they were central to the 'Mokum Records' sound and the broader ID&T ecosystem.

Their work as Vitamin represents the 'Early Hardcore' era, characterized by high BPMs, distorted percussion, and a move away from the melodic 'happy hardcore' toward a darker, more industrial-influenced aesthetic. As members of The Dreamteam, they helped codify the gabber subculture in the Netherlands. Their discography, including tracks like 'De ongestelde flamingo', showcases a penchant for irreverent, often absurd sampling paired with punishing rhythmic structures. Critically, Vitamin is viewed as a foundational act that bridged the gap between acid house and the extreme electronic styles that would define the late 90s rave scene. Their influence persists in modern hardstyle and industrial techno circles.
