Wampyric Rites

Wampyric Rites is a central pillar of the Ecuadorian 'Pure Raw Underground Black Metal Plague' (PRUBMP) circle, a collective known for its prolific output and uncompromising lo-fi aesthetic. Formed in 2019, the project quickly gained international underground acclaim for its synthesis of the 'Black Twilight Circle' intensity and the melodic sensibilities of the French 'Les Légions Noires.'

Their sound is characterized by extreme tape saturation, thin guitar tones, and a heavy use of atmospheric synths that bridge the gap between black metal and dungeon synth. The project faced a significant turning point with the passing of key member Vrolok in 2021, yet it has remained active, continuing to release a steady stream of demos, splits, and full-lengths. Critically, they are viewed as leaders of the modern 'vampiric' black metal sub-movement, which emphasizes themes of nocturnal isolation and spectral romanticism. Their influence is felt across the global raw black metal scene, particularly in the way they balance harsh, unreadable production with highly memorable, melancholic riffing.
