Warlord

Warlord is a seminal American heavy metal band formed in 1980 by guitarist William J. Tsamis and drummer Mark Zonder.

Despite being based in Los Angeles during the rise of glam and thrash, Warlord pursued a highly idiosyncratic path, blending neoclassical guitar work with complex, progressive rhythmic structures. Their sound identity is defined by Tsamis's unique 'medieval' melodic sense and Zonder's highly influential drumming, which would later define the sound of progressive metal titans Fates Warning.
