Wicked Wisdom

Wicked Wisdom is an American metal band formed in 2002, most notable for being fronted by actress Jada Pinkett Smith. While the project began with a focus on neo-soul and funk fusion (as heard on their 2004 debut 'My Story'), they underwent a radical sonic transformation into nu-metal and alternative metal for their 2006 self-titled release.

This shift was solidified by their high-profile appearance on the 2005 Ozzfest tour, where they won over skeptical metal audiences through sheer performance intensity. Their sound is characterized by the 'groove metal' influence of the early 2000s, featuring Pocket Honore's rhythmic guitar work and Smith's versatile vocal range. Critically, the band is often discussed through the lens of celebrity crossover, yet they earned respect within the metal community for their authentic embrace of the genre's aggression.
