Conference of Trees marks a significant evolution for Hendrik Weber, moving away from the 'glitchy' winter landscapes of his earlier career toward a more holistic, biomorphic sound. Released in 2020, the album was the result of a multi-disciplinary project exploring the communication between trees. Weber utilized custom-made wooden instruments to bridge the gap between electronic production and organic sound. Unlike the club-ready structures of 'The Bliss', this record favors long-form compositions and acoustic percussion, specifically marimbas and xylophones, to create a 'forest-techno' hybrid. Critics noted the album's successful synthesis of avant-garde composition and minimal techno, with many praising its environmental themes and meditative quality. It stands as his most 'human' and 'earthy' work to date, prioritizing the physical vibration of wood and air over digital precision.
