Damage Done

Released in 2002, Damage Done represents a pivotal moment in Dark Tranquillity's discography, serving as a synthesis of their melodic roots and the electronic experimentation of the late 90s. Following the polarizing, gothic-leaning Projector and the synth-heavy Haven, this album saw the band re-embrace their death metal aggression while retaining a sophisticated, modern atmosphere. Notably, it was the first album since 1997 to feature exclusively harsh vocals from Mikael Stanne, a decision that sharpened the record's edge. Produced by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, the album features a signature 'clean' heavy sound that defined the era's melodic death metal.
