Field Rexx

Released in 2004, Field Rexx is the second studio album by Portland-based Blitzen Trapper and represents the peak of their experimental, lo-fi phase. While the band would later find mainstream success with a more streamlined 70s-rock sound, this album is a sprawling, 14-track collage that incorporates elements of psych-folk, glitch, and alt-country. The record is notable for its 'scrapbook' approach to songwriting, utilizing field recordings (such as the James & Larry Earley snippets) to create a sense of found-object art.
