Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder is a concept album centered on the life and crimes of the French nobleman and serial killer Gilles de Rais. Released in 2008, it marked a return to a faster, more blast-beat-oriented sound compared to the more experimental 'Thornography.' The album features narration by Doug Bradley (best known as Pinhead from Hellraiser), adding a theatrical weight to the storytelling. Sonically, it is defined by the drumming of Martin 'Marthus' Škaroupka, whose technical precision pushed the band toward a more aggressive thrash-influenced black metal style.
