Released in 2000, this self-titled EP served as the definitive introduction to Ill Niño's 'Latin Metal' sound. While the band would later achieve global success with 'Revolution Revolución', these seven tracks represent a rawer, more hardcore-influenced approach. The EP is notable for its early versions of tracks that would become staples, showcasing Cristian Machado's ability to switch seamlessly between English and Spanish. The production is significantly less compressed than their later studio albums, allowing the auxiliary percussion - congas and timbales - to sit more naturally alongside the distorted guitars. This release solidified their position in the New York/New Jersey metal circuit and remains a cult favorite for its unpolished energy and aggressive, bilingual social commentary. It bridges the gap between the tribalism of Soulfly and the melodic sensibilities of the early 2000s alternative metal movement.
