Released in 1980, Information is the debut studio album by Berlin, recorded during a unique transitional period for the band. Most notably, it features Virginia Macolino on lead vocals instead of the iconic Terri Nunn, who had briefly departed to pursue acting. The songwriting also features contributions from Toni Childs, who would later find solo success. Sonically, the album is a far cry from the 'Top Gun' era; it is a quintessential early New Wave record, heavily influenced by the art-rock and post-punk scenes of the late 70s.
