Life Is Peachy

Released in 1996, Life Is Peachy is the sophomore effort that solidified Korn's role as the architects of nu metal. Recorded quickly with producer Ross Robinson at Indigo Ranch, the album intentionally avoids the 'sophomore slump' by leaning into a rawer, more experimental sound than their debut. The record is notable for its heavy integration of hip-hop influences, most notably in the cover of Ice Cube's 'Wicked' featuring Chino Moreno. Sonically, it pushed the boundaries of the seven-string guitar, using it for texture and rhythm rather than traditional soloing.
