Released in 1984 on the legendary SOLAR (Sound of Los Angeles Records) label, So Good represents The Whispers at a peak of their commercial and sonic evolution. Following the massive success of their early 80s hits, this album saw the group fully embracing the digital synthesis and drum machine technology of the mid-decade while maintaining their doo-wop-rooted harmony structures. Produced by a team including Leon Sylvers III and the group members themselves, the record reached number eight on the Billboard Soul Albums chart.
