Throttle Junkies

Released in 1999 on the ill-fated MIA Records, Throttle Junkies serves as the raw blueprint for SOiL's signature sound. While the band would later find massive commercial success with the single 'Halo' on a major label, this debut captures them at their most aggressive and unpolished. The album features several tracks originally found on their independent EPs, re-recorded here with a focus on heavy, blues-influenced grooves. Musically, it sits at the intersection of the fading grunge movement and the rising alternative metal scene, eschewing the turntables and rap-influences of their peers in favor of a more traditional, guitar-driven approach.
