Delta

Delta is a cornerstone of the Chilean progressive metal scene, formed in Santiago in 2003. Founded by guitarist Rodrigo Guerra and keyboardist Nicolas Quinteros, the band quickly established a reputation for high-level musicianship, eventually catching the attention of Mike Portnoy, who hand-picked them to open for Dream Theater.

Their sound is characterized by a blend of neoclassical shred, power metal melodicism, and the complex structural shifts of progressive rock. Throughout their career, they have maintained a high standard of production, often favoring a polished, 'hi-fi' sound that highlights the intricate interplay between Benjamin Lechuga's virtuosic guitar work and Quinteros's expansive synth arrangements. Critically, they are viewed as a bridge between the European power metal tradition and the more experimental American progressive metal school. Their evolution from the raw energy of 'Apollyon Is Free' to the sophisticated textures of 'Fears' and 'Gemini' demonstrates a band constantly refining their technical vocabulary while remaining committed to melodic accessibility.
