Frost

Frost is a seminal project within the Norwegian electronic landscape, specifically the 'Tromsø Sound' that also birthed Röyksopp and Bel Canto. Formed in 1997, the project evolved from a collaboration between Aggie Peterson and Rune Lindbæk into a long-term partnership between Peterson and Per Martinsen (Mental Overdrive).

Their sound identity is defined by a sophisticated blend of trip-hop, downtempo, and 'space-pop,' characterized by Peterson's breathy, ethereal vocals and Martinsen's intricate, glitch-inflected production. Their 1998 debut 'Bedsit Theories' established them as key players in the late-90s electronic boom, while 2001's 'Melodica' refined their aesthetic into a more polished, internationally acclaimed electropop sound.
