IRON ATTACK!

IRON ATTACK! is a prolific Japanese doujin metal circle led by guitarist Hiroyasu 'Iron-Chino' Chino.

Since its inception in 2007, the project has become a cornerstone of the Touhou arrangement scene, specializing in high-speed power metal and neoclassical shred. Iron-Chino, also known for his work in the band Lightning, brings a professional heavy metal pedigree to the fan-produced music space. The project is characterized by an incredible release frequency, often producing multiple full-length albums per year for events like Comiket and Reitaisai. Musically, the sound is a fusion of European power metal tropes (Helloween, Stratovarius) and Yngwie Malmsteen-style neoclassical technicality, applied to the melodic frameworks of ZUN's Touhou soundtracks. While primarily instrumental, the project frequently collaborates with various vocalists, expanding its reach into melodic speed metal and symphonic arrangements. The project's visual identity often parodies classic metal iconography, signaling its deep reverence for the genre's history while remaining firmly rooted in Japanese subculture.
