Lethal

Lethal is a foundational pillar of the Argentine thrash metal scene, formed in 1987 by former members of Legión. Emerging during a fertile period for South American metal, they quickly distinguished themselves through a combination of high-speed technicality and socially conscious lyrics.

Their sound primarily occupies the space between traditional thrash and US-style power metal, drawing comparisons to bands like Sanctuary or Vicious Rumors due to their melodic sensibilities and vocal range. Throughout the 1990s, they became one of the most prominent metal acts in Argentina, sharing stages with international giants like Pantera and Anthrax. Their discography reflects an evolution from the raw speed of 'Bienvenidos A Mi Reino' to the more groove-oriented and polished 'Maza'. Despite lineup changes and the natural ebb and flow of the genre's popularity, Lethal has remained a consistent force, representing the enduring spirit of 'Thrash Nacional'. They are critically regarded as one of the few bands from the region to successfully bridge the gap between underground aggression and mainstream metal appeal in the Southern Cone.
