Microbunny

Microbunny is the primary creative vehicle for Al Okada, a founding member of the influential Canadian indie band King Cobb Steelie. Based in Ontario, Okada pivoted from his indie rock roots toward a sophisticated blend of organic electronica and downtempo.

The project is defined by a rejection of 'robotic' production, instead emphasizing live instrumentation, including upright bass and acoustic drums, to create a sound Okada describes as 'organically electronic.' This philosophy is most evident on the landmark album Dead Stars, where polyrhythmic structures and human timing variations create a distinctive, non-linear groove. The project frequently features vocalist Tamara Williamson, whose breathy, abstract delivery serves as a textural layer rather than a traditional narrative lead.
